  • 2 tbsp (25 g) granulated white sugar
  • 2 eggs, whisked
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (112 g) unsalted butter, very softened
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) heavy cream
  • 2 chai tea bags
  • 1/2 cup (112 g) unsalted butter, very softened for filling
  • 1 cup (220 g) light brown sugar, packed
  • Spices as listed above for filling preparation
  • Additional half cup of heavy cream for pouring
  • Ingredients for frosting including cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and spices as listed

Instructions

  1. 1. Warm the milk to 110°F and combine it with yeast and sugar. Let it froth for five minutes.
  2. 2. Whisk together flour, spices, salt, and sugar in a separate bowl.
  3. 3. Mix the frothy yeast mixture with eggs, vanilla, and butter until combined.
  4. 4. Gradually add dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms. Knead until smooth.
  5. 5. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. 6. Roll out the dough, spread filling ingredients (butter, brown sugar, and spices), then roll up tightly and slice into rolls.
