  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 dinner rolls (e.g., King's Hawaiian)
  • 16 slices American cheese
  • 1/2 white onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp. softened butter
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • pepper, to taste
  • 3 Tbsp. melted butter
  • pinch of salt and garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. white sesame seeds
  • 2 Tbsp. sweet pickle relish
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. distilled white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Butter a baking sheet and set aside.
  3. In a medium-sized sauté pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sauté onions until translucent, then add ground beef and cook until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in garlic, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper; mix well.
  5. Slice dinner rolls in half and layer the bottom halves on the baking sheet. Add a layer of cheese, followed by the beef mixture, then another layer of cheese.
  6. Place the top halves of the rolls on and brush with melted butter mixed with garlic powder and salt. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes until warmed through and cheese is melted.
