Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage, thinly sliced
  • 2 lbs potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the sliced sausage in a large skillet over medium heat; set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine diced potatoes, cooked sausage, sautéed onion and garlic, cheese, ranch mix, milk, melted butter, salt, and pepper.
  5. Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 60 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
