Instructions

  2. In one bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix vegetable oil, buttermilk, hot water, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Gradually combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients on low speed until just mixed.
  5. Divide batter between pans and bake for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a rack.
