Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef stew meat
  • 1 (1 oz) packet dry onion soup mix
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp minced garlic
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the beef stew meat dry with paper towels and place it in a slow cooker.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together beef broth, onion soup mix, thyme, minced garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, cornstarch, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Pour the mixture over the beef in the slow cooker and ensure all pieces are coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours until the beef is tender.
  5. Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
