  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or 4 thighs)
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter or ghee
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or coconut milk)
  • turmeric

  • cumin
  • coriander
  • smoked paprika
  • chili powder

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken by mixing yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, and spices in a bowl. Coat the chicken well and refrigerate for at least one hour.
  2. In a frying pan over medium heat, cook the marinated chicken until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté onions in butter until translucent. Add garlic and ginger; cook until fragrant.
  4. Stir in remaining spices followed by tomato paste and crushed tomatoes; simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Add cream or coconut milk to the sauce and let it thicken slightly. Season to taste.
  6. Return cooked chicken to the pan and simmer briefly before serving.
