Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound turkey breast (leftover or deli)
  • 12-count King's Hawaiian Rolls
  • 2 medium tomatoes (sliced)
  • 810 slices bacon (cooked and crumbled)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (245 g) whole milk (room temperature)
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup (113 g) white cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • ¼ cup (25 g) parmesan cheese (grated)
  • ¼ cup (½ stick / 57 g) unsalted butter (melted)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • ½ teaspoon fresh parsley (finely chopped)
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the cheese sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour for about 1 minute. Gradually add milk while stirring until smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Add cheeses and stir until melted.
  3. Slice the rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves in a baking dish.
  4. Layer turkey slices over the rolls, followed by tomato slices and crumbled bacon. Pour cheese sauce over everything.
  5. Brush tops with melted butter mixed with garlic salt.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until golden brown.
