- 5 oz evaporated milk
- 14 oz bag caramels (unwrapped)
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Add eggs one at a time.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients until combined; fold in chocolate chips.
- Spread half the dough into the prepared dish and bake for 8–10 minutes until just set.
- Meanwhile, melt evaporated milk and unwrapped caramels in a double boiler or microwave; stir in peanut butter until smooth.
- Pour caramel mixture over the baked layer; drop spoonfuls of remaining dough on top.
- Bake again for an additional 15–20 minutes or until golden brown.
