  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 large onion (diced)
  • 4 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 3 cups beef stock

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef with panko, diced onion, Worcestershire sauce, seasonings, and shape into four oval patties.
  2. Brown patties in a heated cast iron skillet with olive oil for about 6–7 minutes total; transfer to a plate.
  3. Sauté onions and mushrooms in the same skillet until soft; stir in thyme and garlic.
  4. Gradually add beef stock while scraping the pan for flavor; thicken the mixture as desired with flour.
  5. Return patties to the skillet and simmer in the gravy until cooked through.
  6. Serve hot with chopped parsley or chives.
