  • 2 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1½ teaspoons soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried tarragon
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon browning sauce (optional)
  • Fresh chives (chopped for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and trim dry stems.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat; add olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter.
  3. Add mushrooms and sprinkle with salt. Cook undisturbed for 3 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Mix spices in a bowl; add garlic and spice mix to the skillet. Stir for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. If using browning sauce, add it now; cook for another 1–2 minutes.
  6. Pour in Worcestershire and soy sauce; cook for 2–3 minutes until sauce reduces slightly.
  7. Stir in remaining butter until melted; garnish with fresh chives before serving.
