- 50–60 wonton wrappers
- 200 g ground pork
- 200 g raw shrimp (chopped)
- 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 2 garlic cloves (smashed)
- 1-inch ginger slice
- 2 green onions (chopped)
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Chinese cooking wine
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 – 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- Shredded green onions (for serving)
- Bok choy or noodles (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the filling by mixing ground pork, chopped shrimp, ginger, green onions, soy sauce, cooking wine, and salt in a bowl until combined.
- Lay out wonton wrappers and place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each. Brush edges with water and seal tightly.
- Cook wontons in boiling water for about 4 minutes until they float; alternatively, freeze them for later use.
- For the broth, combine chicken broth ingredients in a pot and simmer for 5-10 minutes before straining out aromatics.
- Serve cooked wontons in bowls topped with hot broth and garnish with green onions.
