  • 2 tuna steaks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (divided)
  • Green onion (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, sesame oil, ground ginger, soy sauce, garlic powder, rice vinegar, and half of the sesame seeds.
  3. Marinate the tuna steaks in half of the marinade for at least 20 minutes in the refrigerator.
  4. Remove tuna from marinade and discard excess. Coat both sides of each steak with remaining sesame seeds.
  5. Grill the tuna steaks for about 2-3 minutes per side; drizzle reserved marinade on top while cooking.
  6. Check internal temperature: aim for 135°F for medium-rare or up to 145°F for well-done.
  7. Serve immediately garnished with sliced green onions and extra sesame seeds.
