  • 1 pound fresh salmon (cut into 4 equal pieces)
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chicken broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Remove salmon from the fridge 15–20 minutes before cooking. Pat dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, lemon juice, ginger, Worcestershire sauce, chicken broth, and cornstarch; set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Sear salmon skin-side down for 5 minutes.
  4. Flip the salmon and cook for another 2–3 minutes until nearly cooked through; then add remaining butter and pour the glaze into the skillet.
  5. Let the sauce bubble for about 30 seconds before flipping the salmon again to coat in glaze. Serve immediately.
