  • ⅓ cup butter, melted (for muffins)
  • ¼ cup white sugar (for topping)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup butter, melted (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a muffin tin or line it with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the egg, milk, and melted butter together.
  4. Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients gently until just mixed; some lumps are okay.
  5. Fill muffin cups about two-thirds full with batter.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. While baking, prepare the topping by mixing sugar and cinnamon in one bowl and melting butter in another.
  8. Once baked and slightly cooled, dip each muffin top in melted butter then coat with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
